Carousel of Agony

05-Apr-2026

Yes, the title is a Bad Apple reference. No, I'm not sorry.

After many, many, many delays (mostly due to Miyanogate), I finally found the time to add more "features" to this website.

What do you think? You like the little buttons in the top right? What about the art page?

That was 10+ hours of my life over 3 days right there. JavaScript is my passion.

To be honest, I actually properly finished development at a way healthier time. I just didn't bother writing this update until it became an ungodly hour. Once I publish this, I'm gonna pass out and never look at this website ever again. I can't do this anymore.

I briefly considered going to bed first, but I figured that the spiciness of my takes is proportional to how late it is, so I might as well make the most of goblin mode before I have to fix my sleep schedule again.

You know, I picked the blog title way before I started coding anything, thinking it'd just be simple web dev practice. Oh my god, no it was not. And it doesn't even make sense anymore. It was supposed to be a joke about carousels. But… that's not what I did? Like, not even out of laziness. My initial (and only, thank you very much) idea just wasn't a carousel to begin with.

Eh, well, it's too late now, and I still like the title, so blah.

I'm a huge fan of backward compatibility. Unfortunately, not by choice. If I even slightly increased the size of this body container to 46rem instead of 45rem, pretty much all my previous posts would break.

Did I ever tell you I intentionally tweak my wording so it would look nice on this site specifically? That's also why I just shrink the font size on mobile so it still looks the same as on my laptop. Every time I see a trailing word sitting alone on its own line, my eyes hurt.

So yeah, I've unknowingly cursed myself. I can really only add to this site instead of making major changes. But thankfully, I haven't completely shot myself in the foot. Yet.

Every time someone mentions AI and/or vibe coding, I piss myself just a little bit. However, this post is outdated AF, so here's my new, hot take.

Do you like eating? I sure do. But there are many levels to it:

  1. Owing a farm and harvesting your own wheat or whatever
  2. Buying ingredients and cooking for yourself
  3. Following a recipe online but still cooking yourself
  4. Having someone help you cook
  5. Eating outside and letting someone else do all the cooking
  6. Ordering food to your home and eating it
  7. Making the delivery guy spoon-feed you like a baby

Now look, I like my food. Would I like to be a chef one day? No thanks.

Do I want to make sure I'm not accidentally ingesting rat poison? Well duh.

So yeah, I'm somewhere between 3 and 4.

AI is smart, but not that smart. It doesn't really understand your vision, you know?

They don't call me the "prompt engineer" for no reason.

Okay I'm really gonna pass out now.
